Banana Bread

by Haleh

I had some saaaaaad looking bananas that I didn’t want to waste so I searched for a highly rated recipe and got this! It turned out really tasty and is very moist. Also, it was simple and quick to make ;) It’s from allrecipes.com.
2 cups of flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 eggs, beaten
2 1/3 cup mashed overripe bananas (I used 5)
In one bowl combine your dry ingredients. In another bowl, beat the butter and sugar then add the banana and eggs, I added a dash of vanilla as well. Now here is where you have to be careful… proceed with caution! Lots of breads like this are dry or dense, but we like moist! Dryness usually comes from over beating the flour. So… stir the dry ingredients lightly with a fork  so everything is combined (you don’t want a bite of salt!), now pour in your wet ingredient bowl. Mix this in with a rubber spatula until it is just combined! Resist the urge to keep stirring, you’ll be thankful later when you bite into moist bread, not a brick! Pour the batter into a greased and floured 5×9 loaf pan. Bake at 350 bake for 60 minutes. When it comes out of the oven let it cool for 10 minutes then turn out of the pan and let it cool for a couple more. Now you can enjoy it!
